I Did Not Want To Start a Blog

For the longest time, I did not want start a blog.

Here was my reasoning:

  1. I don't enjoy writing
  2. I don't think I am witty, funny, or clever
  3. I don't have time
  4. I don't have any ideas for blog content
  5. I don't want to blog just because everyone else is
  6. No one will read it

These reasons are only excuses, and I  have decided it is time to start!

1. I do not enjoy writing
As a photographer, I have images to tell a story. I do enjoy lists and bullets. My readers will not have to worry about long winded posts. And I apologize in advance for any future grammar and spelling errors ☺

2. I am not witty, funny, or clever
Do all blogs have to be funny? My goal is to be informative, relatable, personable, and engaging.

3. I do not have time
I am a firm believer that you make time for what is important. My goal is to start by blogging every other week. And I know I won’t always hit this goal, but that’s ok.

4. I do not have any ideas for blog content
When I took the time to sit down and list out blog ideas I came up with quite an extensive list. And I keep adding to it. You can expect blog posts about my sessions, me and my family, personal photography projects, tips and tricks, and much more!

5. I do not want to blog just because everyone else does
In the photography industry, it is easy to follow other photographers and feel the pressure to do what they do. I want to make sure that I stay unique and my work and brand is “me.” The fact that everyone has a blog is a reason I did not want one. I have since realized that my blog content is what will make me, me. A blog is just a platform I can use to continue to distinguish myself.

6. No one will read it
At the very least, this blog will serve as a journal for myself. Any additional readers are a bonus.

Thank you for reading and I am excited to share more!
